The Rocklyn Station area is the primary Growth Area of Honey Brook Township. This area was designated and defined as a traditional neighborhood development overlay in the Rocklyn Station Strategic Development Plan, adopted as part of the Township Comprehensive Plan in 2006.
The Township undertook a process starting in 2007 to create a new Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) overlay zoning district that provides a unified strategy for development in this area of the Township. The district was created using the criteria established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Municipalities Planning Code (see link below). The TND Overlay District was adopted as Ordinance #140-2008 in December 2008, and implements the Rocklyn Station Strategic Development Plan. Below are links to the criteria and regulations governing the implementation of the TND Overlay District and the overlay district maps showing the subdistricts, preferred design map, and a manual of design guidelines for future development.
